Guilty Of Lying To Feds, Mistrial On Remaining 23 Counts

CHICAGO — A federal jury deadlocked Tuesday on all but one of 24 charges against former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, including the most explosive of all – that he tried to sell an appointment to President Barack Obama's old Senate seat. Blagojevich was convicted on a single, less serious count of lying to federal agents.
Prosecutors pledged to retry the case as soon as possible.
"This jury shows you that the government threw everything but the kitchen sink at me," Blagojevich said outside court. "They could not prove I did anything wrong – except for one
nebulous charge from five years ago."

But three jurors said the panel was deadlocked 11-1 in favor of convicting Blagojevich on more serious charges. Two of those jurors said those counts included trying to auction off the Senate seat.
Juror Erik Sarnello of Itasca, Ill., said one woman on the jury "just didn't see what we all saw." Sarnello said the counts involving the Senate seat were "the most obvious."

Victor Cruz Wants the Jets Beaten

“There’s definitely a rivalry,” says Cruz on the video which was posted at Giants.com. “You always want to beat them…actually you kind of always want to beat the crap out of them.”

Victor Cruz, Giants WR

As much as I appreciate Mr. Cruz’s enthusiasm, clearly he has not seen a Rex Ryan defense and you don’t want to be on the receiving end (Ha, get it, receiving?) of a Rex Ryan defense (most of the time).

Par-5 problems plague Tiger Woods

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- Tiger Woods played his way out of contention at the PGA Championship on Saturday.
And he likely put himself in the position of having to get an at-large selection to make the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Woods
Woods shot even-par 72 at Whistling Straits after beginning the third round just five strokes out of the lead. When he finished, he was 10 shots behind Nick Watney.
"Ironically enough today I hit the ball better than I did the first two days; I made nothing," Woods said. "You have to putt. I stuffed it in there early on the first few holes and made nothing, and also had a few other putts on the front nine. No matter how good you hit it, you've still got to make putts. I just didn't do that today."
Although Woods has shown improvement compared to his career-worst 72-hole performance a week ago at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, he is still struggling with several facets of his game.
